From Zero to Cerro

The Cerro Torre is one of the most difficult mountains in the world. Only few alpinists - or andinists - manage to summit Cerro Torre. The expedition team wants to sail on NTOMBIFUTI to the Chilean fjords and approach the west face of Cerro torre over the Patagonian ice cap from the sea. This hasn't been done so far, as teh mountain has always been approached from the much nearer Argentinian settlement El Chaltén. To round off their adventure they plan to sail around Cape Horn. Cerro Torre and Cape Horn are the nec plus ultra of mountainseering and sailing.

The team includes once again Ralph and Harald Fichtinger, and they are joined by Markus Pucher, a real specialist for Patagonian climbing.
